Raylee has had a rough week. We went Monday for a follow up appointment for her ears. She finished another antibiotic and Dr. Rogers wanted to check to make sure that the infection was gone. We were shocked to find out that the Right ear is still really infected (this is the same ear infection that she has had since she was 3 weeks old but the left ear has healed). He gave her another antibiotic and wanted to check her on the 24th.
We brought her home and she was SO happy. She was cooing, laughing and smiling so much, they most I have ever seen her. We took her in her room and sat in her floor and played with her and her toys. She loved it. All of a sudden she started getting fussy and screaming. I took her in the living room and started rocking her and saw that her right ear was draining a lot. I didn't know if I should be concerned or not so I called the drs office who instructed us to take her UMC ER bc they think her ear drum has ruptured. So we did and you can imagine our experience. We sat and waited and waited to be told that her ear canal was so full of fluid that they could not tell if it had ruptured or not and referred us back to Dr. Rogers. I had a feeling that nothing would be accomplished by our ER visit but would have regretted it if something happened and I went against their advise and not have taken her. So things went from bad to worse.
Yesterday she only ate 12oz in a 24 hr period and was screaming when she was awake. It was so sad bc she would suck two times and then stop and scream. At one point she was sucking on her fist like she was starving to death. She finally gave it up and went to sleep. The daycare called this morning to say that her temp was 101 and she was screaming hysterically and would not stop. Billy left work and went and got her and we went back to the dr and she got a roseffin shot and has to go back tomorrow and Friday morning for another shot. We found out today that we go the the ENT on Monday at 8:45! Hopefully she will get some relief soon. Mommy & Daddy need some relief as well.......
